About

Welcome to MyRoadToWealth blog (or MRTW) as i call it to save on all the typing.

My name is JK or Jay Kay and am a Kenyan guy in his thirties, working a steady job in Nairobi, single and basically your average Joe. I started this blog as a way of putting down my experiences with money, finances and wealth creation, more for me but also as a way of sharing my experiences and my journey with anyone else who is interested in personal finance without all the mumbo jumbo.

Straight off the bat, i would like to make it absolutely clear that am no financial whizz, no expert in anything to do with investing and therefore if you my dear reader should come across anything on this site that looks anything like advice, be sure to take it merely as my opinion on the subject matter and seek independent advice from someone more qualified than I in these matters.

I write this blog anonymously simply for the mere fact that money is a touchy subject for most people. Interestingly, even among couples money is still one of those subjects that many a couple have been unable to quite open up to discussing frankly and openly. So, i’ll keep private those details that are really private and add no value to my blog if set down to paper. But i hope that whatever gets posted will still enable you travel this journey with me and enjoy every minute of it.

I hope to be able to share with you my growth in networth as i strive to reach my various financial goals and hopefully, inspire you in your own journey to financial independence and abundance. For now, my BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) is to have a networth of Ksh. 15million by the age of 40 (some odd 8 years away). I will post some more on this and other goals separately so as to flesh them out a little more.

Nothing in this site should lead anyone to believe that I am dispensing of advice on How To Become Rich. I know no more than you do in that area. That is why my blog is named My Road To Wealth and not The Road To Wealth.

So have fun reading through the site, hope you learn something new or just get inspired to reach your own goals and in all of this, please share your thoughts with me and other readers through the comments form at the bottom of every post. I would love to learn from you as much as you do from me!

So here goes….
